Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market
Community Garden
Located on Fremont Street, south of Forest Street
As of 5/24/2010
The community Garden has made great strides -
- Compost was delivered by Gloversville DPW and several volunteers and neighborhood children helped in spreading and preparing compost for planting.
- A fence to keep out rabbits and woodchucks has been erected around three sides of the garden. A front portion is needed with gateways for access.
- The Gloversville Water Department will be providing a spigot within the next two weeks.
- Community Tree Care of Gloversville will be bringing in rough wood chips this week to be used for mulch.
There were a few neighborhood kids there last night and we were able to water the plants already in and move some dirt.
I will be working at the garden on Wednesday and Thursday of this week from about 4:30 to about 7:00. We will be moving some compost with wheelbarrows and planting potatoes and tomatoes. We are getting water from one of the neighbors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We will need wheelbarrows, spade shovels, and watering cans.
